Play Black Queen on Discord: start a table from any voice call
Black Queen is a Discord Activity: a game that runs inside a voice call. Start it, and everyone in the call lands at the same table, with no room codes and no links to paste. It is the quickest way to get four friends into a hand.
What you need
- A Discord server where the Black Queen app is added. You can join ours to try it straight away.
- A voice channel and the people you want to play with in it.
- That is all. There is no download and no sign-up, and the game shows no ads.
Start a table in four steps
- Join a voice channel. Everyone who will play joins the same one.
- Open the Activities button in the voice panel, at the bottom left on a computer.
- Choose Black Queen. The game opens inside Discord.
- Type a name and join. Your friends open the same Activity from the same call and land at the same table automatically. Add bots for any empty seats, then press Start game.
The first time, Discord may ask you to confirm that you want to open the Activity. That is Discord's own notice for apps that are not made by Discord, and you only need to accept it once.
How it works
Each voice-call session has its own identifier, and Black Queen uses it to name the table. The first person to open the Activity creates the table, and everyone who opens it in the same call after that joins it. Nobody has to type or share a code. A call can have up to 10 participants, which is exactly a full table. For how a table of that size plays, read Black Queen with 10 players.
- You choose your own name. You type a name once and the game remembers it. There is no login.
- Smart bots fill empty seats, so you can play with two friends or with five.
- Late friend? They join the call, open the Activity, and take a seat. If you have already started, a bot's seat can be taken over with a link.
Adding Black Queen to your own server
If you manage a server, you can add the app with this link. It asks for one permission, to create its launch command, and it cannot read your messages. Discord requires you to have the Manage Server permission to add an app. The Black Queen app has passed Discord's app verification.
Or play in your browser without Discord.
Questions
Do my friends have to install anything?
No. They need to be in the server and in the voice call, and the game opens inside Discord.
Can I start it without a voice call?
Activities start from a voice channel. If you just want a quick game, open the game in your browser and share the link.
Does it use my microphone?
The game does not. Your voice chat is Discord's own, and it keeps working while you play.
Is it free?
Yes. Black Queen is free, with no sign-up and no ads.
How many can play?
From 4 to 10 players. Empty seats can be filled with bots.
